The jerkiness is also apparent with ``aplay -Dplughw:0
/usr/share/sounds/startup.wav''. But it's not just the "jerkiness", the
real problem is, that I cannot login into Gnome anymore. To be able to
start Gnome, I've got to kill esd. Then the applications startup just
fine - until the next sound is played.
