Vanilla 2.6.15 with mm4 patch (for Areca) and gcc3.3 works, X works, apt
works.

Vanilla 2.6.15 + only Areca driver from areca.us site and gcc 3.3 works.
X works, apt works.

Vanilla 2.6.15 + only Areca driver from areca.us site and gcc 4.0.3 also
works.  X works, apt works.
