Network hardware not detected when attempting to install both amd64 and i386
versions.
According to http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=112001 the driver
should be included in the kernel.

using the ASRock 939dual-sata2 motherboard with the uli m1695 chipset.

Trying to do an expert install allows selection of network module, but nothing
uli is listed and tulip does not work.
