[Bug 31842] ACPI kills parallel printer support. (Kernel bug, but has workaround)

Description:
Enabling ACPI support in kernels above 2.6.9 kills parallel printer
support for some hardware configurations.  Here's the link where the

The workaround is to compile the kernel without ACPI support.  This
will, of course, disable some features, but at least printing will work
again.
