This should be working. Snapper support was not touched during the
Great-Mac-Sound changes. My G5 has Snapper, and it is still working
(although the volume seems a lot lower now).

Maybe you issue is the same, the volume just being too low. I have amp'd
speakers connected to my G5, so I can turn those up separately.
