Public bug report changed:

Comment:
The machine aborted the ext3 journal 3 times since first post of present bug.
Today's fsck produced 20118 files in lost+found, and a many many errors (bad i_size, bad i_blocs, compression flag set, zero dtime inode, blocks claimed by many inodes, and so on).
smartctl -a /dev/hda says "no error logged", no CRC errors (disk is 4 months old, never crashed or freezed under breezy).
short smart test completed without errors.
extended smart test completed without errors.
for me the disk is out of cause.

It *seems* the journal aborts independly from the freezes (today it was 3 hours after a reboot consequent to a freeze ; i fsck'ed the RO-mounted partition, then trigerred a reboot but the machine hung in graphic mode, nothing responding, no SysRq)

Don't know if the corruption it is an indirect consequence of the
freeze, or not ? Should i file another bug related to the data
corruption, or wait ?
