Yes, still no sound... but it seems to be fixed with the latest rc from
alsa

    - Fix/add support of Realtek ALC883 / ALC888 and ALC861 codecs

Someone reported that this fixed the problem for him... unfortunately I
don't remember whome nor where I read it.
