Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.15-23-386
I have a Gigabyte GA-8S649MF-FS motherboard with a “SiS 190 & 191
Gigabit LAN” ethernet card.
With Ubuntu 6.06 (kernel 2.6.15) and tested with Ubuntu 6.10 (kernel
2.6.17) the system freezes when loads the module “sis190”.
I have added it to “/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist” and the rest is working
fine, then I try to load the module with “sudo modprobe sis190” and the
system freezes.
But if first I boot Windows XP, and then make a software reboot, the
driver loads, and the ethernet card is works fine!!!
is a bug ?
