Disabling AHCI mode for the sata hard drive in the BIOS Setup was
necessary to get suspend/hibernate working on my Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo
Si 1520. But it only worked with the 386 kernel (2.6.15-23-386).

With the 686 kernel it either behaves as aliet's machine, or only locks
the screen (not hangs it, the kind of lock you type your password to
release).
