I have an Acer Travelmate C100.  After upgrading to Dapper, it started suffering drive errors  including stuff like:

hda: timeout waiting for dma
hda: drive not ready for command
status=0x58 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest }

I thought my hard drive was failing, so I purchased a new 40GB Toshiba HD.  I installed Dapper Flight 6 with ext3 and after my third boot up, half of my file system was somewhat gone, giving I/O errors when I tried to access certain utilities or files.  I did an fsck, and found thousands of files in the lost+found.  I re-installed with ReiserFS, and all went well for three days, but now I am again getting the errors:

hda: timeout waiting for dma
hda: drive not ready for command

If the new hard drive isn't broken as well, I'm slightly annoyed at having prematurely replaced the original :)
