I had the same problem.

I had no problems with the wireless card (dell truemobile - orinico) during installation but the card failed directly at first boot, there were also numerous error mesages in syslog (about 1 per second).

I noticed that the hostap and hostap_cs modules were loaded, after blacklisting them and rebooting there were no more error messages, I could set a wep key without errors and got a connection.
