This is a known issue of the upstream rt2570 drivers when PREEMPT is on. (Does not happen when PREEMPT is off, or voluntary preempt is on)

They know about the issue; their forums has reports of this; no fix currently... They are rewriting the entire driver to be generalized, so let's hope the new drivers fix it?


A workaround may be to use a server kernel, which AFAIK has preempt turned off. Or just unplug the interface and re-plug instead of bouncing the interface.
