Following this recipe from Matthew Garrett seems to have solved it: 

>> echo RESUME=/dev/whatever | sudo tee /etc/mkinitramfs/conf.d/resume

It turned out that I started using espresso install for both Flight 6 and Beta, so that's when my hibernate stopped working.
