Well, I spoke too soon.  It works about 1 in 4 times right now.  (Up to
date dapper).  It fails during hibernation.  The screen is black, and
the harddriver light stays on.  I've left it for at least 5 minutes, and
no change.  When it succeeds, it succeeds in under 2 minutes.
