Public bug reported:

Affects: linux-source-2.6.12 linux-image-2.6.12-10-686 (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
I use a MSI Megabook S260 with Ubuntu Breezy installed on. Sleep mode
works fine, usually. When I use a filesharing application which cause
much traffic (on the ethernet device) or downloading a big file the
laptop is not going to sleep properly. Instead of sleep only the screen
is locked. After unlocking I recognize that the network and usb is not
working anymore. Also to remove/unload the 8139too module does not work,
it hangs. Additionally to shutdown the system does not work properly: I
have to kill the X system (ctrl + alt + <-) than the system shuts down.
All this works fine when I don't try to set the system to sleep while
having much network traffic. I experienced such behaviour several times.
Potentally bugs #38305 and #24336 are relevant?
