Tried Flight 6 CDs and same thing happened. It is related to ACPI stuff. 
Maybe this helps too: After restarting the system not only I am unable to boot to  Ubuntu and Windows XP is unable to load too. Somewhere in the loading process it freezes. 

I have to turn off the system and turn it on to  solve the problem.
