2.6.15-20 did allow it to work!  Thank-you. Just a couple of (possibly) bugs - instead of showing a wireless icon when the network monitor shows, it shows a standard NIC icon, and when either rebooting or first start, in order to get the wireless to work, I need to go into Networking, disable the wireless, and re-enable it, and then it works fine.
