I have no idea why snd_seq_dummy 3844 0 is loading.  Nor do I know how it is loaded.  I haven't manually done this.

As a further piece of information, when booting the machine, I do get the Ubuntu "drum-sound" that comes when the login screen displays, but I don't get any sound after I log in.
