Public bug reported:

Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
     Assignee: Ubuntu Audio Team
         Status: Needs Info

Description:
When running dapper flight-2 amd64 on this new Fujitsu-Siemens Esprimo P
I don't get any normal sound, only xmms with OSS output works.

/etc/init.d/alsa reload gives this output:

root at tyfoner:~# /etc/init.d/alsa reload
Unloading ALSA sound driver modules: snd-intel8x0 snd-ac97-codec snd-ac97-bus snd-pcm-oss snd-mixer-oss snd-pcm snd-timer snd-page-alloc.
Loading ALSA sound driver modules: snd-intel8x0 snd-ac97-codec snd-ac97-bus snd-pcm-oss snd-mixer-oss snd-pcm snd-timer snd-page-alloc * Setting up ALSA... [ ok ]
.

Output from dmesg after the command above:

[ 8111.289992] ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:02.7[C] -> GSI 18 (level, low) -> IRQ 225[ 8111.792729] codec_ready: codec is not ready [0x340000]
[ 8111.792750] ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:00:02.7 disabled
[ 8111.792980] Intel ICH: probe of 0000:00:02.7 failed with error -5

lspci claims:
0000:00:02.7 Multimedia audio controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] Sound Controller (rev a0)

System/Preferences/Sound gives me an empty list to choose sound card from. Rythmbox "can't open device". And mpg123:

Directory: M/MachinaeSupremacy/
Playing MPEG stream from Hero.mp3 ...
MPEG 1.0 layer III, 192 kbit/s, 44100 Hz joint-stereo
ALSA lib confmisc.c:672:(snd_func_card_driver) cannot find card '0'
ALSA lib conf.c:3493:(_snd_config_evaluate) function snd_func_card_driver returned error: No such device
ALSA lib confmisc.c:392:(snd_func_concat) error evaluating strings
ALSA lib conf.c:3493:(_snd_config_evaluate) function snd_func_concat returned error: No such device

ALSA lib conf.c:3493:(_snd_config_evaluate) function snd_func_refer returned error: No such device
ALSA lib conf.c:3962:(snd_config_expand) Evaluate error: No such device
ALSA lib pcm.c:2099:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM default
ALSA snd_pcm_open error: No such device
Can't find a suitable libao driver. (Is device in use?)

Anything else I should add, you do you know what the problem is?
