[Bug 34209] Re: 2.6.15-17-k7 doesn't boot on Athlon 2000+

I get the exact same result on my Athlon 1800+.  I downloaded the ubuntu-server iso of flight6, install went through just fine, but have the same problem as the above listed.  I attempted passing several things to the boot line like "noapic", "nolapic", "acpi=off", "nosplash", nothing seems to work.
