Public bug reported:

Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
I have a old pc. Asus Motherboard, 512 Ram, with Win XP Home on it a
reasonably new build with all patches (nothing else except Office and
wireless drivers).

I want to preserve winxp in a partition and install UBUNTU on the other
partition.

I am following the install and partition instructions for NTFS: http://users.bigpond.net.au/hermanzone/p3.htm to install UBUNTU
and found that after enter I get the error as listed ibelow;

I got the CDs direct from UBUNTU and have tried three CDs so it is not
the CD ( not a scratch or summut)

Error:
4294668:920000 Kernel Panic, - Not Syncing: No init Found - Passing Init option = 0 to kernel
4294668:920000 _
( it hangs here)

The live cd works and boots but I really want a partioned install.
