Yes, it does. Even after creating anew user account from the workaround and trying to log in with this new account, Gnome still freezes. Btw. when in I got a new kermel update to 2.6.15-20-386, a new option (actually 2, default and recovery modes) has been added to the Grub bootloader. Logging in from default mode with either the new or old account, didn't work either.
