Public bug reported:
Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 linux-image-2.6.15-20-686 (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
My laptop, Fujitsu-Siemens S7020 Supreme does not suspend or hibernate.
After issuing hibernate action (both GUI or pmi command) the screen
turns off, disk activity stops but the laptop does not power off. After
reseting, the system boots in a regular way.
Manually removing network and pcmcia modules before hibernation
(including ieee80211 and ieee80211_crypt) does not help.
ACPI_SLEEP_MODE=standby in /etc/default/acpi-support does not help
either.
Some links report working suspend/hibernate in this laptop with a 2.6.16
kernel (it is in French):

Also, a probably related e-mail list thread is at:
http://www.ussg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0602.2/1907.html
regarding some suspend issues with sata controllers.
I am using current dapper, updated daily. Installed from dapper Flight-6
CD.
