Sorry, it seems that is was my fault:

During installation linux-image-386 and linux-restricted-modules-386 have been installed. 

When I found out, I installed current linux-image-XXXX-k7 to correct this and all worked fine - till next kernel-update.

I started a new try to update to current kernelversion and now I saw that the restricted modules package for my kernel-version was not installed. So I did this  - and now it works!

I guess I had to install package linux-image-k7 AND linux-restricted-modules-k7, to get allways the correct packages updated.
