Public bug reported:
Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
Here is the analysis I made regarding this strange behaviour.
From: System > Admin > Disks
Under Breezy
storage list: hard disk
properties: USB BAR 250 MiB /dev/sda
partition: partition 1
periph: /dev/sda1
file system: vfat
access path: /media/usbdisk
size: 243 MiB
Under Dapper:
storage list: hard disk
properties: unknown /dev/fd0
partition: there aren't known partition in the disk
My interrogations:
1- Why doesn't Dapper recognize an existing partition seen under Breezy?
2- Why is the device called /dev/fd0 (fd as floppy disk?) under Dapper and a more appropriate /dev/sda1 under Breezy?
Any chance to solve that please? I saw other people w/ the same problem
on the Ubuntu-fr.org forum, so it's not an isolated case, please help,
Thx.
