[Bug 37862] kernel panic on IRQ allocation

Description:
Brand new install of Dapper flight6 on a Sony Vaio laptop (VGN-S5M/S)
with latest BIOS.  All the install went fine but on reboot, even with
options such as pci=noacpi noapic, the laptop kernel panics on IRQ
routing.




Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'linux-image-2.6'; however, that package was not published in Ubuntu.
