Public bug reported:

Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 kernel-image-2.6.15-19-386-di (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
If I boot the laptop by default I have no network connectivity. The
cards (wireless & wired) are recognized but they fail to obtain DHCP or
communicate with the network (if a static address is assigned).

If I pass the pci=noacpi option to the kernel the network/pci works till
I try to query something (IE cat /proc/acpi/etc/etc), after that the
network/pci no longer works till the computer is rebooted.

If I pass the acpi=off option to the kernel everything works fine.

I have tried both the 1.60 and 1.70 versions of the BIOS.

I started off with Kernel 2.6.12-9 from Breezy, then upgraded to Dapper
with Kernel 2.6.15-19 to try and resolve the issue but that did not fix
it.

Having no ACPI sucks (Can't speedstep, computer won't shutdown by
itself, etc).

:(
