Well, this doesn't happen any more. Maybe it got fixed along the way (I update
regularly), but now I get new errors on booting (amixer, will look for that bug
next).
So this may not be a real bug, but if it helps, the cmd you requested didn't
seem to work. Output is:
jane at peyton:/boot$ sudo depmod -F /boot/System.map-`uname -r` -e
