for me, it happens spasmodically, frequently triggered by reboots.  some boots,
I can use the forcedeth NIC, but not the yukon; others, vice versa.  seems to
more or less swap around every reboot.  no errors are shown, just an abject
failure to actually transmit or receive any packets.
