Tested with Breezy 5.10 Live CD.  
Same Marvell NIC, the « skge » module is loaded at boot, then the module find the NIC (in dmesg : skge eth0: addr 00:0f:ea:85:7d:cc). 
But it's unable to activate the connexion, LEDs are always off. 
  
It's an Ubuntu Kernel related problem, my Marvell chip works with my Gentoo (skge module).
