Summary: Wrong firmware loaded for acx_pci
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux-restricted-modules
        AssignedTo: adconrad at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: mairas at iki.fi
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

I have a D-Link AirPlus DWL-G50+ rev B1 wlan card. Breezy nowadays kindly has an
up-to-date acx_pci driver included, so no compilation is necessary to use the
card. However, the firmware (currently
/lib/hotplug/firmware/TIACX111.BIN-2.6.12-9-686) does not work with the card. If
I substitute it for a firmware found in the link below, the card works perfectly.

http://acx100.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/Right_Firmware
direct link to driver:
ftp://ftp.dlink.co.uk/wireless/dwl-g650+_rev_Bx/DWL-G650+_rev_Bx_Drv_v202.zip

The correct driver has a size of 83024 bytes and a md5 sum of
35b3b82f079205493ce6cda46b2d3d29.

(Note: this might be a duplicate of bug 16552, but as they report a different
card type and maybe different symptoms, I decided to report this as a separate bug.)
