/i am submitter of duplicate bug 16880/

sound on my asus w6a works now with this kernel

i had to use 
------>8---------------------------------
option snd-hda-intel model=asus
------>8---------------------------------
in /etc/modutils.d/alsa-base as found in  
http://jeriko.l-tech.org/2005/09/04/intel-hda-unter-debian-sarge-installieren/
(german)

without that i was missing some controls in alsamixer (no
front/surround/center/lfe, only headphones/pcm/line/mic)

other kernels didnt not recognize the card for me
