have a sony vaio vgn-s560p. reboot hangs too. I am using 2.6.12-9.22. noapic makes laptop not 
find sata device and therefore not boot. using /etc/acpi/powerbtn.sh does turn of the machine 
correctly. halt does not. hibernate.sh does but resume wont work. reboot with kernel mentioned 
above now ends in a endless loop of a message which I can't read, because it loops to fast.
