hmm, since you didn't reply yet I was looking at it again. I may be wrong here, but it seems to be that it only called 
ide_resume for hda, but when processing this request, it is waiting for all drives, including hdb, but there is no 
REQ_PM_RESUME issued yet! 
 
I could have misunderstood how this is supposed to work though.
