I tried appending "acpi=on noapic nolapic", which was recommended on several
other lists too, with mixed success reports. At boot, I get "BIOS bug, local
APIC #0 not detected", and it cripples certain features (hotkeys for one), and
still reboot just hangs :-/

Would you like me to try any other specific options on the kernel line?
