Summary: segfault when booting k7 kernel with "splash" parameter
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: i386
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: linux
AssignedTo: ben.collins at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: jrl at ids.org.au
QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
I have a clean install of Flight 1, with the k7 (2.6.12.16) kernel installed.
When attempting to boot the k7 kernel with "splash" passed to the kernel (as is
the default), it will start decompressing the kernel and then print
"Segmentation fault" several times and halts. With the splash parameter removed,
it boots fine.
This probably isn't helpful by itself, so if there is any furthur information I
can get to help debug the problem, let me know.
