Ubuntu | kernel-package

Summary: acct() in userland doesnt seem to work right.
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: kernel-package
        AssignedTo: ben.collins at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: rave at rosiello.org
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

I have been coding a client to the acct kernel system call, all this works fine
but. When i ship the package to my ubuntu server i noticed some strange things

Debian:

# jatx
<0x0> +root:Sun Nov 20 21:08:16 2005:jatx
<0x1> +root:Sun Nov 20 21:08:17 2005:jatx
<0x2> +root:Sun Nov 20 21:08:20 2005:jatx
<0x3> +root:Sun Nov 20 21:09:01 2005:sed
<0x4> +root:Sun Nov 20 21:09:01 2005:maxlifetime
<0x5> +root:Sun Nov 20 21:09:01 2005:maxlifetime
<0x6> +root:Sun Nov 20 21:09:01 2005:sh
<0x7> +root:Sun Nov 20 21:09:01 2005:find
<0x8> +root:Sun Nov 20 21:09:01 2005:xargs
<0x9> +root:Sun Nov 20 21:09:01 2005:sh
<0xa> +root:Sun Nov 20 21:09:01 2005:cron

Ubuntu:

<0x0> +unknown:<n/a>:￿
<0x1> +unknown:<n/a>:￿
<0x2> +unknown:<n/a>:￿

This indictated that eigther there is a problem in the kernel with acct() or
read().
The source of the package (jatx) can be found on http://cvs.anircd.com.
