Summary: rt2500 module, not working perfectly
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: kernel-package
        AssignedTo: ben.collins at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: nedrebo at stud.ntnu.no
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
                CC: nedrebo at stud.ntnu.no

System: Linux ubuntu 2.6.12-9-686 #1 Mon Oct 10 13:25:32 BST 2005 i686 GNU/Linux
Package: linux-image-2.6.12-9-686
File: /lib/modules/2.6.12-9-686/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/rt2500/rt2500.ko

This module is required for my wlan-card, but when using it networking is really
unstable, and I am losing my connection all the time. It even does not get any
signal from my own router, so I had to connect to my neighborer's net :) "iwlist
scan" can see my router but reports Quality:0/100. So I built my own module from
source code, now I can connect to my own router and the network is rock stable,
so it is not a hardware problem. Exactly same problem with the live CD(Ubuntu 5.10).

Some more info you might want to know:
*The file I used is
http://internap.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/rt2400/rt2500-1.1.0-b3.tar.gz.
*lspci lists this: 0000:01:07.0 Network controller: RaLink Ralink RT2500 802.11
Cardbus Reference Card (rev 01)
*standard Ubuntu Breezy install, with standard kernel
*my wlan-card: http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.asp?sku=301248
