/etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf doesn't exist in a fresh Ubuntu Breezy installation
(it's absence had already surprised me earlier... ). I tried manually creating
the file according to the link you provided and

IT WORKS \o/

After rebooting hostap is loaded instead of orinoco and now everything seems to
be as I wanted it to be. Thank you, era!

Is this the 'bug'? Did the Ubuntu guys just forget to add the
/etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf file? Well at least it makes for a simple fix. =)
