           Summary: initrd.img symbolic link help text is backwards
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: ben.collins at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: dooglus at gmail.com
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

I just installed 'linux-686' in a chroot. It was the first time I had installed
a kernel image in that chroot.

It asked me:

  Do you want me to create a link from /boot/initrd.img-2.6.12-9-686 to
initrd.img?[Yn]

I answered 'y', and it created a link FROM /initrd.img TO
/boot/initrd.img-2.6.12-9-686:

  $ ls -l /initrd.img
  lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 28 Nov  8 03:32 /initrd.img ->
boot/initrd.img-2.6.12-9-686

That's what I would expect it to do, but it's not what the question said it
would do.

Should the 'from' and the 'to' in the question be switched?

Note also that the question would be more helpful it if told us where it was
going to put the symbolic link. ie. if I told us that it was making a link from
/initrd.img rather than just from initrd.img in an unspecified directory.

The question is in the postinst script of
linux-image-2.6.12-9-686_2.6.12-9.23_i386.deb .
