Please look at comments 5 and 6 of this kernel bugzilla problem
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4332#c5
for resolution.
My problem was due to not having a /etc/sensors.conf sufficiently up to date to be in sync with updated w83781d sensors
module from kernel 2.6.11-rc4 and following versions.
So this is not a kernel bug, but rather a lm-sensors upgrade problem. I wonder what happens when you upgrade lm-sensors
and there is a customized sensors.conf already in the target system ?
Is there a warning from dpkg in this case ?
