I don't know if this is the same problem I am having with Ubuntu on an Inspiron 8100. When the PC is not idle, the mouse update rate tends to drop down to around 1 update per
second (i.e. the mouse is frozen for about 95% of every second), and also the sound will also "cycle" during this period, i.e. the same second of sound is played over and over
again, until the computer becomes sufficiently idle again. Shall I raise a new bug for this?
