Some patches that seems to fix this problem have been committed upstream today.

I am pretty sure this problem will go away with 2.6.12 final, but i seriously doubt
we will be able to even consider a backport of the fix. The input layer has been
basically rewritten between 2.6.10 and 2.6.12.
