Hi Matt;

In comment 7 and comment 9 - you've stated somewhat conflicting information. 
You've stated that you are not adding drivers and features at this late stage,
and yet you're open to the idea, "If the driver can be backported to our kernel
without intrusive changes to the rest of the kernel or ALSA." ... So I'm
slightly confused.

We just pushed out a dozen Ubuntu boxes as part of a county initiative to put
Linux on the desktop for government employees, and the biggest hassle we had was
with the audigy 2 sound card.  I was hoping this issue would be resolved before
I upgraded those dozen boxes to Hoary and also installed Ubuntu on more of the
desktops.  I don't want the county IT technicians trying to install Hoary on any
of the boxes if the sound card isn't going to work without a driver update that
you're releasing later.  Could you please clarify if Hoary will be released with
the audigy 2 also fixes?
