I would like to be added to this bug because i think it might be related to
mine. Have you tried booting with a non smp kernel? I have a Thunder K7 (dual
athlon) running either 686 smp or k7 smp I get unpredictable kernel freezes when
there are devices connected to my via based usb 2.0 card. If I boot with the
stock non smp kernel I have yet to experience the problem.
