I've tried twice today:

First try:

recording aborted like noted in the first report. Unit seems to have
disconected. Kernel says:

Unplugging and plugging usb cable works. Unit is detected.

Second try:

Also, after that, unplugging and plugging the unit does nothing. dmesg does not
notice. Tried to remove modules:

root at valhalla:/home/jjchico # modprobe -r usb_storage
FATAL: Module usb_storage is in use.
root at valhalla:/home/jjchico # modprobe -r usbcore
FATAL: Module usbcore is in use.
root at valhalla:/home/jjchico # modprobe -r sr_mod
(this last one lasts forever)

I am starting to suspect from bad hardware becouse of the "Unable to handle
kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000008", but the same
hardware worked fine a couple of weeks ago.

The unit is attached to USB-2.0 PCI card (motherboard's usb is 1.0 or 1.1). I
will try next time using usb 1.0. I will need a reboot since usb 1.0 does not work
either.
