I have added memory to the computer, from 128MB to 256MB. The problem seems to
be solved. The desktop is reponsive and applications (once loaded) are
acceptably slow, as one might expect on a G3/300.
My opinion : 128MB of memory may be enough for an installed version (with a swap
partition) but it's not enough for a live version. I'm sorry but I can't make
the test (adding a disk and installing ubuntu on it) due to a wellknow bad ide
chip on these machine.
