It'd be nice that at some point sound would work out of the box with Ubuntu and
my configuration. In Warty, I didn't get any sound at all without tinkering
esd.conf, and then only in a few applications. I've been deleting my tv-card's
sound module after each kernel update in Warty, as I didn't find a way to tell
ALSA&co. that Audigy2 is the _real_ sound card. With Hoary, that seems fixed so
this hard-to-find default mixer setting is currently the remaining problem
(fortunately a lot smaller problem, though can be as hard for a newbie).
