I own one of these cards, the driver is GPL'd and community maintained at
http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com

All I had to do to compile and install it on the Hoary preview release was
unpack the tarball, install kernel-headers and build-essential, and type make;
sudo make install.  No patches necessary, it just builds itself as a module and
drops it in the right location.  I hope it's not too late to see it in Hoary
(seeing as it doesn't modify the kernel it should be OK right?).
