I don't know wether this belongs to hotplug or linux. When using current breezy
with linux-image-2.6.12-3-686 from linux-source 2.6.12-3.3, my system powers off
during reboot when executing hotplug.

With much "manual booting", using /bin/bash as init and consecutive starting of
the scripts in /etc/rcS.d and syslogging to a remote host, I found out that the
last messages my system logs before powering off are the following (I started
sysklogd manually just before executing /etc/init.d/hotplug start):

Jul 10 17:23:35 syslogd 1.4.1#17ubuntu1: restart.
Jul 10 17:24:10 pci.agent[2195]: intel-agp: loaded successfully

Jul 10 17:24:10 usb.agent[2418]: usbcore: already loaded
Jul 10 17:24:10 pci.agent[2303]: uhci-hcd: loaded successfully
Jul 10 17:24:10 pci.agent[2488]: uhci-hcd: already loaded

Jul 10 17:24:10 pci.agent[2591]: ehci-hcd: loaded successfully
Jul 10 17:24:10 usb.agent[2680]: usbcore: already loaded
Jul 10 17:24:10 pci.agent[2644]: shpchp: loaded successfully
Jul 10 17:24:10 pci.agent[2644]: hw_random: can't be loaded
Jul 10 17:24:10 pci.agent[2644]: missing kernel or user mode driver hw_random
Jul 10 17:24:11 pci.agent[2761]: tpm_nsc: loaded successfully
Jul 10 17:24:12 pci.agent[2761]: tpm_atmel: loaded successfully
Jul 10 17:24:12 pci.agent[2838]: piix: already loaded
Jul 10 17:24:12 pci.agent[2867]: i2c-i801: loaded successfully

After that, power immediatly went off. I blacklisted a few of the listet modules
and found out that when blacklisting tpm_nsc and tpm_atmel, the kernel kind of
works (doesn't power off at boot now), but my touchpad stops working, which I
probably file another bug for.
